Community groups are being urged to lobby their local authorities to benefit from a £350 million scheme that will provide low-income households with a complete “energy efficiency makeover”. The Government’s latest scheme to tackle fuel poverty, the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP), starts next month and will aim at 100 “fuel-poor” areas and install energy efficiency measures in people’s homes, street by street (source: The Times).
